After pulling into the parking lot behind the club he kept his helmet on for a while. It was too dark to really make out his face if anyone would actually recognize him, but he highly doubted that. Ever since he got this job people had been treating him like a sickness; it felt good to go undercover once in a while. He hadn’t even worn his United bracelet just in case anyone would somehow catch a glance of his wrist, though, if someone from his building saw him here he might loose a hand for it. He didn’t think about that. But aside from that, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing he could think of. With nothing to hold him back, Luz let the loud music slowly drown his worries.
He flipped the kickstand and locked the motorcycle. The one he had tonight as stolen since his now had a United emblem on it. Thinking about the day he’d gotten excited and painted that on there, he realized that it probably wasn’t that good of an idea. His black combat boots scraped against the gravel as he hopped off and turned to rest his helmet on the handle bars. His hair was in disarray, but he doubted it really mattered, after raking a hand through it looked like he meant to have it that way. He wore a black tee with fancy white script, white fitted jeans and black pads over his knees and elbows that he kept on for show. Revealing his face, the small crowd that had gathered around him squealed and murmured in a way that made his eyes lightly glimmer. As he smiled and laughed he tried to contain himself before he blinded someone. Because of Luz’s powers, it wouldn’t take long before he was the well-known new guy in town; but when word would got out about him joining the United things were going to get sketchy. As of now it was still a rumor, he hadn’t even reached celebrity status yet, so he still had time. New York was a big city full of big people, so he couldn’t stand out that much.
He’d intended to head to the club, but after the crowd dissipated everyone seemed to be headed to the abandoned warehouse up the street near the docks. The strobe lights had drawn him here. Sure, the building was filled with darkness--his worst enemy--but tonight he didn’t feel afraid. This would be the perfect place for him to shine. He had only come to dance, but could already tell from the energy emitted from the place that something was about to happen, something big. By the time he’d entered the the DJ had cranked up the bass and glowsticks were being flung around like comets. Luz channeled the light he had stored up to the insides of his fists and began dancing.
