Here are the rules, please read them. They contain important info aside from the generic rules you find on most sites.
Registering:
• Please do not register then "forget" to make an application, we will find out and we will delete your account.
• If you are planning on making a character then leaving without posting, you might as well leave right now and save us all the trouble. It is a waste of both your time and ours.[/ul][/size]
Applications:
• When you are accepted your application will be moved to the accepted section, we will reply to your app with an approved banner to let you know that you are accepted.
• When filling out the application, please do not use one word or one line answers for things that may require something along the lines of three paragraphs. The suggested lengths are there for a reason.
• This rule is a basic NO MARY-STUS or GARY STUS, no one is perfect, and all characters have some sort of flaw. No one likes them. Please look it up if you don't know what it means.
• Do not post an incomplete application and expect to be approved. All sections must be filled in, even if it's just with a N/A. The only exception to this rule is the roleplay sample. You only need to do these on your first charrie app.
• Because i am aesthetically anal, no cartoon, hand drawn, or anime face claims are allowed. You MUST use a relatively well known public figure as your claim such as Brad Pitt, George Bush, or Russel Brand. We don't care if you're the world's best artist. We use an assorted collection of images for your charrie through the site and one drawing just isn't going to cut it.
• Please post your application like : First Last } { member group, wip/done.[/ul][/size]
Advertisement:
• Please do not put links to your site in your sig, that is weird and staff will put a picture of a monkey in your sig if you do it. There is a section on your profile where you can place links to your site.
• WE ARE GUEST FRIENDLY!!!! Please do not sign up for an account just to advertise, we will remove not only your account but also your post.[/ul][/size]
C-Box:
• In character rping is allowed and indeed encouraged for newbies so we get a feel of your charrie. However intense rping, eg wanting to rp a whole plotline, should be written out on the boards, or taken to pm. Other people like to use the cb for things like moaning about how cold winter is where they are lol. [/ul][/size]
Roleplaying:
• Do not roleplay in first person, this is not only confusing but after a while it can become annoying for not only you but whomever you are rping with.
• This is a site aimed for mature people, so we accept that some references relevant to that audience may be made, however we ask you to limit or not include them at all. If every word out of your characters mouth is rude and offensive, then you will be warned and if you continue, you will be banned. Please keep it in moderation, but if you can't, fade to black before you post something that will go against proboards rules.
• No God-modding, this is basic. Don't control other peoples characters. If this is seen, please notify an admin and we will deal with the person in the appropriate manner. It can also be called Meta-gaming or Power-playing. Do not do it. Posts displaying this will be deleted immediately. However if a person gives you their permission to control their character feel free to god mod just be sure to put a ((note)) at the end of your post saying that you had permission.
• This is a literate site, so please use proper grammar and spelling, please post at least 200 words minimum on all posts. If you don't have the muse to post 200 words, then don't post. We go for quality and quantity here. Any one or two word posts will be deleted and a continued disregard of this rule will lead a serious Admin to user talk which may end with a yell from the ban hammer. For effective rping staff suggest aiming for around 400 words a post, just so we get a better feel for what your character is thinking and feeling.
• If you are planning to get a character pregnant or are planning to kill them off. Let a staff member know then wait for permission, because you can't exactly kill off a main character then expect everything to go on hunky-dory. It doesn't work that way. Check ~this thread~ for info on our baby policy.
• Put ((brackets like these for out of character))
• Out of courtesy to help make the staff's job easier, when a thread you have opened has come to a close plotwise, please edit the title of your thread so that it contains 'closed' written in the description.[/ul][/size]
Activity:
• If you are planning on going away for a long period of time. Let us know by posting in the ~awayness~ board.[/ul][/size]
General:
• You may not request a person for a face claim who is already claimed by someone else. It's just silly and we will most likely laugh and ignore your request. Please read the list of who's taken before you ask for someone. IF you want a celeb that is already taken, PM the member using it to see if they need a twin. OR if the member is not a staffie, pm the Admin account if the member has not posted for over a month, and we will see if it is appropriate to take over the playby.
• You are not allowed to join an rp until your character application has been approved. You are however allowed to post on the boards in the Member Lounge category, and the chatbox.
• Any posts which are not using proper grammar and spelling will be deleted immediately. There is no excuse to use text style language. eg. c u l8er. If you're concerned your post may not be up to scratch use a spell checker on it. Or add an OCC note at the beginning saying you weren't typing at your best when writing the post. If the post is absolutely horrible, Mods may contact you and request you rewrite it.
• Harass anyone and the staff shall harass you. Please be nice to one another, we don't enjoy putting our grumpy hats on and having to evoke the warning system.
• Double posting is forbidden. All double posts will be deleted immediately. Simple as that. Use the edit button, it was invented for a reason. Some circumstances in OOC threads allow for double posting, but the rule of thumb is don't do it.
• You are allowed at the most 5 active accounts on this site. Your are allowed only one character per account and you must be active with all your charries please. It is extremely frustrating when you have to wait a few weeks for a person you're rping with to bother to reply. Secret. Also, you must reach 50 posts before you can create a 2nd charrie unless you pm the Admin account and get their approval beforehand.
• If you do not post with your charrie for 3 months then that account will be deleted. Bi-monthly attendance checks shall be run as well, just so we can keep track of whether you're still alive or not.
• If you are still confused or have any questions please post in the Q&A board ~here~, not on the rp boards.[/ul][/size]
CONSEQUENCES:
• Strike two, less friendly PM explaining to you what you did wrong and also informing you that this is your second warning and that you are expected to comply.
• Third strike. You will get a blunt PM from all the Admins telling you exactly what you are doing wrong and what you have to do to fix it in order stay.
• Fourth strike, the fact that you actually made it this far surprises us. But either way, you and your character(s) will be deleted from the site. You will be suspended for an amount of time decided by the admins. When the time is up, you may come back but you have to make a new character. We will be watching you and it will be harder to get accepted.
• Fifth strike. Congratulations, you're banned. Not just your characters but also your IP address as well. This is permanent. If you get banned, chances are you've annoyed both the staff and the members of TTF, so no one really wants you here anymore, nor will we miss you.[/ul][/size]
