Have you only just started to roleplay? Or perhaps you are unsure of what is expected from the members of this site when rping? Here be a short little guide to what the Staff would like to see you implementing on TTF when you post.
- When you roleplay, people here on TTF would like it if you do it in third person. When you do it in first person, it can be confusing to follow and just plain ugly to read sometimes. Example:
What to do: Steve liked chocolate and so as he walked down the isles of the store he pondered which type he wanted to buy.
What NOT to do: I like chocolate, i thought of which type i want while walking through the store. - When speaking or thinking, make it clear what their actions are. Staff would prefer it if you colored speech and placed it between quotation marks (""). But with thoughts, whilst it should still be colored, the quotation marks can be dropped and replaced with italics.Example:
Speech: "Steve why do you always end up being the name i use in examples?"
Thought: I wonder if Steve is wearing a hat today. - Sometimes users don't want a thread to be open for everyone on TTF to join, so they place the names of the people they want to reply in the description after a thread title (after the } {). Likewise if you do want to let everyone know that anyone can join your thread please place 'Open' after the title. There are no restrictions on what your title can be, just don't make it overly offensive.
Example:
Sitting by the lake } { Steve
Casing the pizza place } { Open - The minimum word limit here is 200 words (About the length of this point and the one below and above combined). It is encouraged to do at least 300. It helps create good long posts that a person can go off on and create a reply for you that is just as long. Phrase. Pretty much, what you give is what you get. So, if you are trying to create a higher word count, add emotions, add their thoughts on the situation. Bring up past events, do anything you can to make the post longer, this is not needed of course.
- God modding is very disliked by people here on TTF. It means that you already know someone's name before you even met them. It's a form of powerplay. Another form is making the other character do actions without their consent. We don't like it, so don't do it.
