[/scrolly] THE PERSONALITY [scrolly:h(120),w(400),sy]Likes: - Reading - Food - Dancing - Watching fire - Clothes - Long, loooong showers Dislikes: - Long amounts of silence - When people expect her to do all of the talking - Laziness - Being alone for long amounts of time - The sight of blood - Heights - Boring people - People who constantly talk about their problems General: Quinn’s a very complex person. She’s prefers being quiet, yet she hates when others are. Quinn hates when people think just because she’s quiet that she’s one of those people who are always there to listen to you and give you good advice and stuff. Quinn almost always doesn’t know what to say, and when she does it’s usually a mistake. Quinn hates hearing others complain about stupid things like relationship troubles or not knowing what to wear; she wished that she could (and occasionally does) slap them. Quinn is often the voice of reason, but she too can often be led astray. She HATES when others can tell what she’s thinking. Quinn often tries to wear a ‘Poker Face’ to try and make sure she doesn’t give anything away. Quinn deals with other’s memories and minds daily, she just doesn’t like the idea of someone doing that to her. Though she would never admit it, Quinn LOVES clothes! She loves new clothes, even if they aren't exactly brand new. Quinn also loves reading, on a normal day she can be found reading in a room filled with the sound of others talking, even if that's strange. She just likes the sound of other's talking because she doesn't like being left alone. Quinn only practices her powers on people who agree to it, she'd never just go and attack her teammates. Occasionally, she will practice it on random people she sees walking by, but she only alters their memory and she always alters it back. Quinn loves her team more than anything, but she probably wouldn't say it out loud. They helped her through a hard time in her life and she's really greatful for that. She knows she's not the easiest to put up with, so she's also greatful that she hasn't been kicked out of the Titans yet. [/scrolly] THE SKILLS Quinn's pretty good at cooking, she looooves food. Seriously, she would marry it if she could. Quinn's best at (ironically) Italian food, but she does know how to cook other things. Also, Quinn likes jogging. When she needs to clear her head, she goes for a jog. It just calms her down for some reason. Quinn's skilled with daggers, as far as weapons go. She's decent at throwing them and 52% of the time the dagger hits the target (to her that's good). THE MUTATIONS Memory Munipulation: Quinn can erase or alter others memories, which as you can imagine, comes in handy. She's practiced on this a lot and has gotten quite good at it. Well, her abilities aren't amazing, but she's better at this that her other power. She can't completely erase someone's entire memory, but she can erase specific memories. For example, she can erase the memory of someone's birthday, but she can't erase all of their birthdays at the same time. She can however, erase one memory at a time, but this is very time-consuming, plus it takes a lot of energy out of her. If Quinn just erases one memory, then she feels fine, but if she erases five memories or more, she begins to feel light-headed and she feels tired. To manipulate someone's memory, Quinn just has to make eye contact with the person she wants to manipulate. She makes eye contact with them, then she sort of enters there mind in a way that she can see everything they've ever seen. From there, she picks the memory she wishes to manipulate and erases it or changes it. The people are typically confused for long periods of time afterwards, meaning they typically don't remember where they are, who they are, and what they were doing before she manipulated their memories. That usually clears up within thirty minutes, unless she erased their last memory, then they are often confused for longer periods of time because she erased their memory of doing whatever they were doing when she erased their memory if that makes since. Once Quinn erases a memory, there isn't very much hope for it to be recovered. The only person or people who could recover it are Quinn and any other people with the power of Memory Manipulation. If she just changes the memory, there's very much hope for someone to recover the true memory. If they really, really want to remember and they are given an item or items from that memory, then they can often remember the truth. That's why Quinn often just erases the whole memory rather just altering it. Erasing or altering a memory takes anywhere from thirty seconds to twenty minutes depending on the size of the memory. If Quinn tries to erase more than five memories in a day, then she will feel extremely tired. She has never made it past six memories without passing out, so she still needs to work on that. Quinn has never tried to alter/erase the memory of someone else with psiotic powers, but she believes the results would be in their favor. Possession: For very, and I mean very brief amounts of time, Quinn can take over someone else's mind. Quinn practices this often, but the longest she's been able to take over for has been thirty seconds. Her skills are improving, but she's still not very good at her gift. The process of entering someone's mind takes a lot out of her and makes her exhasted. She can really only practice this once or twice a day if she's lucky, otherwise it makes her to tired and she falls asleep and/or passes out. Quinn's major goal for the rest of her life is to master the skill of Possession, though it doesn't look likely at the moment. Even if she could withstand the tiredness that comes with entering someone's mind, it's likely that the other person could kick her out of their head if they really wanted to. While this annoys Quinn, she keeps practicing because she knows that this will be a very powerful gift, once she masters it. Once Quinn has entered someone's mind, she can control their actions. She can make the walk away, drop their weapon, or even fire at their companions. Quinn has yet to master making them speak, but she hopes to master that within the next few years. She isn't exceptional at making someone move; if they were really strong, they could just over-power her. People are often confused when Quinn leaves their minds because they do not remember being possessed by her. They often have a headache and often they don't begin to remember what happened until around ten or twenty minutes after Quinn exits their head. During this, Quinn's physical body stays upright and it doesn't blink or move in anyway. It just stands there with a blank expression on her face. Quinn's body is very vulnerable during this time because it can't think for itself and if someone were to hurt it in anyway, Quinn would feel it when she enters her body again. Quinn can easily be over-powered in this state. If someone didn't want her in their mind and they were a lot stronger than her, then their mind could force her mind out. THE WEAKNESSES Quinn's temper often gets the better of her and sometimes she snaps at someone without thinking. Often, Quinn's mouth gets her in trouble because she'll give a smart retort which then makes others angry. She can be brash, often saying something terrible without thinking about it and then having others angry at her. She hates hurting people she cares about, but she often does because she just doesn't realize how bad something sounds before she says it. As far as powers go, Quinn's biggest weakness is the fact that her powers often make her tired and exhast her. She can't help this and she's learned to accept it...sort of. Quinn still practices her powers daily. Also, hitting her in the head in anyway often messes with her memory manipulation powers because it makes her lose concentration for long amounts of time. Also, when Quinn's angry, she loses control of her powers. She just loses it and can't erase memories or possess someone. When Quinn is already tired, there is absolutely no hope for her to be able to possess someone, and it's very unlikely that she'll be able use her memory powers either. Due to the fact that both of her powers are energy-consuming, being tired just adds extra to that and makes it twice as hard to practice and/or use her powers; that's why Quinn needs her full eight hours of sleep each night. Quinn can be over-powered and kicked out of someone's mind at any point after her entering it. Also, due to the fact that her mind enters their mind, someone else could physically hurt her body and she wouldn't be able to defend herself. Quinn has learned that her memory altering power isn't very strong and someone could remember the true memory if they really tried and if they had an item from the memory. After erasing and/or changing five memories in a day, Quinn often feels extremely exhasted and may or may not pass out depending on how long the memories were. Also, since she has to make eye contact to erase/alter someone's memory, someone could easily blindfold her or themselves to stop her from doing any damage. She wouldn't be able to do pretty much anything without her eyes, she depends on them a lot. THE HISTORY Quinn Isadora Martinez was born on a warm, sunny day in July eighteen years ago. She was the first and last child of Opal and George Martinez and both where over-joyed to have her, but for different reasons. Opal always wanted a little girl to dress up and prance around while George just wanted a child with powers like himself. His wife didn't understand that her husband and child were special and different from herself because George wasn't one to go around shouting out that he had powers. No, he was a neutral in the on-going war between the Uniteds and the Reavers. George wanted to stay out of it. When Quinn was three, she began getting a temper. She often yelled or threw things when she was angry about something, which was most of the time. It was at this time that she also began sitting quietly while listening to her parents talk...when she wasn't screaming of course. Her parents passed it off as her late 'Terrible Twos.' Quinn always hated being left alone, even as a newborn. Often she would force her mother to be with her at all times...with a few exceptions. Quinn became a little bit more social when she started school, but even then she only had a few friends. It wasn't until age thirteen that her powers started to surface. She only discovered her powers because of an embaressing incident involving her tripping in front of the boy she was interested in at the time. Quinn had wanted more than anything for Drew to forget her falling, and she soon found he had. Her father later explained that she was special and she had powers that most people couldn't dream of. At the time, Quinn had decided he was crazy, but then he began to help her with her powers. He too was able to manipulate memories. Quinn discovered her ability to possess others very briefly when she was fifteen. Her father helped her with this too, even though he wasn't a possessor himself. Quinn was never very good at this gift, but she kept trying. She knew that it would help her someday. Right before she turned sixteen, Quinn's father passed away. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was fatally injured in a bank robbery. Instead of going all pysco and seeking revenge on the robber, Quinn instead turned to another place. She wanted to help others so no one had to feel like she did when she got the call about her father. Quinn joined the Teen Titans and began practicing to perfect her abilities while fighting crime. She still isn't the best at her powers, but she's improved in the last two years. THE PLAYER Name: Sunny Time Zone: East Coast Contact Info: PM Roleplay Sample: Quinn angrily stalked back into her room, slamming her door with a satisfied 'BAM!' She had been practicing Memory Manipulation on certain people, just altering their memories slightly, when she had been reminded that she could easily tire herself out. Quinn hadn't been in the mood for a lecture, so she just decided to go to her room. This was rather unusual for her as she hated being alone, but Quinn decided being alone was better than being bothers, so she had left. When she got to her room, Quinn almost instantly became bored. What could she do to entertain herself? She couldn't practice her powers without another person, and asking for help was out of the question. Quinn could read, but she was already angry and trying to concentrate on her book would be the death of her, she was sure. So, Quinn decided she'd just lay on her bed until she thought of something to do. This turned out to be a terrible idea. As it turns out, trying to think of something to do is even more boring than actually doing something she didn't want to do. Admitting defeat, Quinn angrily grabbed her book and tried to read. While she usually found all of the books she read to be exciting, Quinn found that this one was quite boring, though that could have something to do with the fact that she was angry and therefore not really paying attention. Sighing in anger, Quinn quickly set her book down and picked up her sneakers. She laced then up, then put her hair up into a messy pony tail. Giving herself the once-over in the mirror, Quinn nodded to herself. She put on a light jacket, because it was a bit chilly that day and she didn't want to freeze. Quinn finally headed out of her room and down the hallway, intent on going for a jog and clearing her head. |
