He feels useless and thinks he is an ugly freak who everyone hates. However, he will do anything to help someone, even people he just met. He tends to doubt his abilities and wonders why they are useful and looks at them as a bit useless. He worries about others a lot and blames himself if they get hurt or something bad happens to them. He tends to be brutally honest at times, but this is only because he is worried about others and doesn’t want to lie to them. He is very loyal and works hard. When he first meets someone, he tends to shun them, thinking they won’t like him. He also acts a bit shy and seldom talks. However, as he gets closer to people, he shows an unfailing kindness towards them and protects them to the bitter end. Andreth also talks more when with people who he regards as friends. He tends to think a lot, sometimes starting into space, thinking about everything. He seems a bit distant, sometimes not hearing others speaking due to being lost in thought. He tends to be a bit emotional and isn’t very good at hiding emotions. He also has arachnaphobia and tends to get very scared when he sees a spider. [/scrolly] THE SKILLS Andreth is quite capable at running, able to run quite quickly compared to the average human. He can also dodge pretty well and can climb up buildings and walls quite well due to living on the streets, where he spent a lot of his time perfecting his skills. He also can drive a car because he saw someone drive one. THE MUTATIONS Andreth is a tracker, if he is given a name or an item that belongs to someone; he is able to send out psychic waves that allow him to give the location of the person. He needs to be in a state of complete concentration when looking for someone, only being able to speak and listen to other people speaking when using this ability. He can send his psychic waves across the entire world but he cannot send the waves through space to other planets, he can only track people on earth. The vision he sees are bird's eye-view of the world. When he's trying to locate something, he sees the world and then starts to zoom in onto a certain location. The furthest he can zoom into is looking over a single building. He can give an overview as to which building the person is in, but he cannot zoom in any further than that. So he can only tell people which building they are in. It's sort of like Google Chrome. The psychic waves are not affected by metals, but cannot penetrate soil or earth. He also has another mutant ability, which he doesn’t know he has. The mutation is called skill mimicry. If he sees someone do something that doesn’t require mutations i.e. driving a car, fighting techniques, gymnastics for a few moments (2 posts); he subconsciously duplicates it in his mind and learns how to do it. Using this power, he could learn different fighting techniques, hacking, solving math problems, swimming, dancing etc. in an instant just by seeing someone do it. He doesn't forget any skills once he has acquired it, which could mean he has panmnesia when it comes to skills. THE WEAKNESSES As stated above, he must be in a state of complete concentration if he uses his tracking abilities. When tacking, he loses his sight of his surroundings and only sees where the person is. He can only talk and listen to others talk if he is tracking someone, leaving him open for attack or to be kidnapped. He also, unknowingly, uses psychic waves to search for people. If a mutant with psychic powers were able to manipulate the waves, it would cause him to be unable to find the person. It might even cause him to track someone else by accident. He also can only keep track of a person for a certain amount of time (10 posts) before he has to take a rest due to mental exhaustion (2 posts). If he tries to track someone for too long and he doesn’t take a break, it will cause him to become unconscious for the rest of the thread. He is unable to penetrate solid earth, so if the person is underground, he cannot track them. If a person is underwater, it is harder for him to track and would require more psychic power and concentration. If it is underwater, he can only track them for 6 posts before having to take a break. He would also need to be at full concentration, not being able to speak. For his skill mimicry, he doesn’t actually know he has it. He just thinks that he learns things very quickly and therefore can’t use it to its full advantages. He also personally believes that he isn’t good at anything. This means that even though he might know how to drive or hack, he is hesitant in using it, in fear that he is not as good at it as others. It also happens instantly and when it happens, his mind gets flooded with how to do it, which can surprise him. THE HISTORY Andreth was born to Alison and Matthew Roave who lived in New York City. They lived a modest life with only the basic needs, but they were happy. Andreth was given a lot of love at a very young age and grew up to be a generally happy person. At 6 years old, Andreth was sent to school by his parents. At school, he began to do amazing at all his subjects, getting full marks all the time and being top of the class with nearly no effort whatsoever. This not only confused his teachers and classmates, this also confused Andreth. Though he said he had no idea how he was doing this, people thought he was cheating and was bullied and then expelled by the teacher. His parents knew he wasn’t lying and decided that he didn’t need to go to school anymore and still treated him the same. However, Andreth began to think that something was wrong with him and his self esteem started to decrease. At 10 years old, his house got raided by thieves. The thieves pillaged the house and then killed his parents in front of his own eyes. He then immediately ran away to a alleyway where he began to cry. He also at that moment lost all self esteem, thinking that it was his fault that his parents were killed and his self confidence at not being able to do anything to help them. When he turned 12 years old, he started to discover his tracking powers, completely by accident. Finding a lost toy on the ground, he picked it up and tried thinking about anyone he knew that would’ve lost it. Concentrating, he suddenly found himself seeing all of New York and then focusing on a house where a girl lived. It turns out that the doll belonged to the girl and he gave it back to her, making her and her family surprised, but happy. When he did this, he got such a happy feeling from it and began trying to help people who lost things on the street. He thought of it as somehow making it up for his supposed “sins” before from when his parents died. When he was 13, he saw some people doing gymnastics on the streets and climbing up walls. Suddenly, his mind got flooded with gymnastic moves and expert climbing techniques and he suddenly was also able to do gymnastics and climb. He found it very odd, but thought it was a one time thing. However, it happened again when he saw someone drive a car by him. At 16 years old, he heard about the teen titans and wanted to join their ranks. He wanted to make a bigger impact in NYC. Locating the titan tower was hard, but he found it eventually. He went in and asked if he could help out. THE PLAYER Name: Jimmydalad Time Zone: Singapore Contact Info: PM or MSN MSN: jimmy_lad@hotmail.com Roleplay Sample: In one of the numerous dark alleyways in New York City, Andreth was standing on his own, wearing ragged clothes and generally looking very dirty. He quickly looked around, trying to see if anyone was around. He did not want to be ambushed while collecting his thoughts; they were one of the only things keeping him sane in the chaos on the streets. When he was sure no one was around, he ran behind a dumpster and sat down, closing his eyes and allowing himself to think. The darkness helped obscure him completely, hiding him and his features. However, Andreth wasn’t focusing on the outside world right now. He normally had these thinking sessions in order for him not only to prevent him from losing his sanity, but to allow him to plan how he would survive the next day. He liked these excursions in his mind, partly because it allowed him to forget the chaos happening around him. He couldn’t continue to live this way. He knew that much. Andreth knew that if he lived on the streets for any longer, he might have to resort to thievery to survive, and that was not something he would ever do. He knew better than to ruin other people’s lives by theft as he himself lost much more than a few items when thieves attacked his home. Andreth wanted to do something, make an impact. Though he was helping people find lost items, he knew it wasn’t enough. The amount of crime in New York City was at an all time high and Andreth wanted to qualm it, to stop it before more people than him get hurt and lose everything. However, Andreth knew he couldn’t do this alone. On the streets, he heard stories about a group of people calling themselves the Teen Titans. The Teen Titans were apparently a group who were trying to fight against The United and The Reavers to reduce the crime in the NYC. Andreth felt that he needed to move on to bigger things and help more people. He saw the many crimes committed on these streets and was tired of it, tired of letting people get away. However, shaking his head, Andreth had to wonder. ”Would they even want me?” He heard himself say, trying to rack his brains as to why they would need him. His tracking abilities could help, but to be honest, he still doubted it would help. However, he knew he couldn’t sit around anymore, letting life pass by. Getting up, Andreth looked around again. No one was around. With a purpose in mind, Andreth set forth, looking for something to do with the Teen Titans. He wanted to make a change, and he knew that joining the Teen Titans could help that change. |
